Stand Up Paddling Instruction in Lake Powell, Utah

Sol wants to make it clear that as of March 28 we do not have a permit, but anticipate this new offering during Summer 2012. Stay Tuned for our big announcement!

Sol Fitness Adventures anticipates three ways to experience stand up paddling, the world’s fastest growing water sport, at Lake Powell. Sol’s own expert fitness trainer and adventure guide, Melanie Webb, an ATHLETA Featured Athlete, provides expert instruction and plenty of fun on the water for active travelers seeking to experience the wonders of Lake Powell and the Grand Circle under their own motor power. Melanie works exclusively with small groups, who can select from an SUP skills lesson, SUP core fitness, and SUP Pranayama meditation.

SUP is for everyone – from the super fit to the newbie on water. Read on for detailed descriptions!

Stand Up Paddle Skills Lesson

Learn the skills you need to fully dive in and enjoy this sport! The class begins with dry-land training to introduce safety guidelines and basic strokes on flat water. The class is 1.5 hours long. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Location and time to be determined by the guide depending on weather conditions.

Stand Up Paddle Core Fitness

The board on water is the perfect tool to train for balance and core strength. SUP Core Fitness blends exercises from floor Pilates, yoga, and traditional strength movements to challenge every fitness level.

Stand Up Paddle Pranayama

Stressed-out travelers looking to ‘unplug’ or meditate will reach that Zen mindset with a paddle session followed by Pranayama breathing exercises. Meditation can be incorporated into the paddle session, performed on the boards while in the water, or combined with a paddle to a nearby beach.

For inquiries and reservations, please email Melanie at info@soladventure.com.

** Please note, Sol Fitness Adventures does not rent stand up paddle boards. All SUP offerings are tailored to groups of two to six people, age 16 and up, and must be done with an instructor. Please do not ask us to rent boards.
