The Alchemy of Healing: Turning Gold Dust into Gold
I recently got to be a guest exploring the alchemy of healing on the Stampede Know Like Trust Podcast featuring Troy Campbell. Troy explores the entrepreneur journey, examining the traits that help a client know, like, and trust a business. It was a great conversation that made me think back on my own journey with Sol Fitness Adventures. And the truth is, as rewarding as it’s been, it’s also been a little bumpy!
One of the topics that stood out to me most came toward the end of the Podcast, when we talked about my recent run-in with a traumatic brain injury. The diagnosis of post-concussive syndrome came as a shock to me. I’d never heard of such a thing. With my brain chemistry so shaken up, my symptoms included PTSD, anxiety, and depression. It was the first time in my life I’d had to deal with emotional disorders, and it wasn’t fun. But I dove in, surrounded myself with the best team of physicians, therapists, and alternative healers I could find, and made it out the other side.
Similar to mistakes made and lessons learned in business, this wasn’t my first physical injury. But it was one of the worst. It is also the one injury that could prove to help me the most as I serve my clients and hold space for them to heal. Kind of like those bumps in the road along this small business journey. As a client once told me, “failure is just another brick in your building.” Isn’t that the truth?!
We talked about transforming our hardships into something good, and that sentiment really resonates with me. What is the alchemy of healing? How do I take my gold dust and turn it into a gold nugget? Can I turn my suffering and hardship into something that helps others? That’s the goal!
I hope you enjoy this Podcast, it was definitely fun to explore my journey with Sol Fitness Adventures as I prepare to step out onto the water again with my new label, WebbWell.
